Quick Hair Styling Tips for the Busy Woman

Women who live busy lives full of work, family and fun need some hairstyles for days when there just isn’t enough time. When we’re on the go, we need to get our hair styled quickly so that we can be out the door on time. It’s always nice to take a straightener or curling iron to our hair, but sometimes we just don’t have the time, but we still want to look put-together. Here are a few simple modern hairstyles that look great and that any busy women can easily do, and they don’t take many products or equipment. A brush, a few hair ties, bobby pins, and styling spray is all you’ll need to have great on-the-go hairstyles.

A low ponytail either in the back or at the side with a teased crown is a classic and flattering hairstyle. Simply backcomb your crown a few times and lightly spray with styling spray. Gently lay the hair back down and smooth it over the teased section without losing volume. Then gather your hair at the nape of your neck or towards one side behind your ear. As you put in the hair tie, maneuver it around so that you do not lose volume at your crown, but put the hair tie close to your head and make sure it is very secure. You can add a bobby pin into the middle of the ponytail to give it volume. This hairstyle looks good with a headband and side swept bangs, too. If necessary, smooth down any fly away hairs with a straightening balm on your fingertips or a bit of styling spray.

Bobby pins can come to the rescue for any spur of the moment style if you’re having a bad hair day, or even for second day hair. They’re also great no matter what length hair you have. First, brush out your hair to make sure it is smooth. If your hair is short, pop your bangs back and secure them with a pin. If you want a side swept look, sweep the front to the side and pin it right over your ear.

If your hair is long, you have an array of choices for bobby pins. You can pin back your bangs and pieces from the front or you can sweep the front over to one side and pin it over your ear. You can also take a small section from each temple and twist or braid them, then pin them towards the back of your head. At this point, take a higher section of hair and lay it over the pin to hide it.

You can literally roll out of bed and easily fix your hair into a low messy bun and have it look like you spent time on it. Messy buns, high or low, are great for second day hair. There are several ways to do this style, and they are all very easy. Simply gather your hair at the nape of your neck and put it in a loose pony tail. Twist it up, allowing any pieces to fall out, pin it securely and tuck in the end. You can allow any pieces around your face to fall out for a more natural look. Another way to get a messy bun is to simply bunch up the hair at the base of your head and start sticking in bobby pins all over. If you have thicker hair, this may not be a workable option. Another spin on this style would be to make the messy bun up higher towards your crown.
